Motivational Interviewing

Motivational interviewing (MI) is a client-centered counseling style that helps people change their behavior by strengthening their motivation and commitment to change. MI helps people resolve ambivalent feelings and insecurities to find the internal motivation they need to change their behavior. It's based on the idea that building a trusting relationship between the client and therapist is key to treatment success. Many clients feel these sessions create a safe space to become more comfortable talking about their feelings and unlocking their personal potential.
